Sooner or later the bloom of excitement will wear off until one day there isn't an idea or word stirring.
Then what do you do to meet your self-imposed deadlines?
  • Choose a keyword for your blog's niche.
Write everything you know about it.
Don't self-edit until 100 words have been written.
After editing, add content to each paragraph.
    That content should appear natural.
  • Do a search engine query for article directory.
You will hundreds of articles with free content organized by topic or genre.
Post the free article in your blog giving the authors their Bio and link credit.
  • Build a list of good blogs in your niche.
From this list call or email to find a blogger who would like to guest post with a link to his site.
That post can talk about his or her view of your niche.
The readers who follow that blog will also come to you when posted.
  • Promote or give away a free eBook on your blog.
The post for that will be shorter than your regular posts.
It will also be easier to write.
What are giving away? Why are you giving it away? What do I have to do to get it? What's in it for me? Yes, Virginia there are free eBooks on the Internet.
  • Tell your users when you will be back with a post on your blog.
This sets the expectations to what you are really going to do.
Tell them nicely but succinctly why you're taking time off.
  • Use a cartoon, quotation or photo with just a few words as a post.
You are not a bad evil person for not blogging everyday.
Your audience deserves to know what you will do for them and how often.
Don't strive to post everyday.
Try three times a week.
I still want you to draft post everyday.
You will find some days you will write multiple posts.
Edit, improve, and save as a draft those posts.
Then one week announce:
  • The light has dawned above my head and called to me to give you a series of posts.
  • I'm sorry but the devil blossomed in several of my posts.
    Please help me stake him!
  • You deserve better and for now I will do better by you.
How long I can do this without a sabbatical remains to be seen.
Dear reader you will be the first to see.
Thinking is nice, talking is fun, complaining satisfies but only writing a post will get you off the hook with your readers.
