How to Kill Time at Detroit Metropolitan Airport

  • 1). Figure out how much free time you will actually have. Check to see if your flight is late and whether it will arrive and depart at the L.C. Smith Terminal (Concourses A, B and C), the J.M. Davey Terminal (Concourses D, E, F and G) or the Michael Berry International Terminal.

  • 2). Relax in any of the bar and grill restaurants or lounges located in each of the concourses.

  • 3). If you have the time, take a short shuttle ride to the on-site Detroit Airport Marriott Hotel for a meal.

  • 4). Shop for gifts in the few specialty shops located in Concourse B or in the news and gift shops in any of the terminals. Be aware that you may be asked to check in or mail larger items (see Warnings below).

  • 5). Consider staying at the on-site Marriott (734-941-9400) if your flight will not leave until the next day.

  • 6). Splurge and stay overnight at the Detroit Marriott Romulus (734-729-7555), a 1/2 mile from the airport. It features a health club, pool, whirlpool and golf. An airport shuttle runs 24 hours a day.
