How to Attach a Mandolin Strap to an F Style Mandolin

    • 1). Examine the design of your mandolin strap. Look for a loop at one end; this end attaches around the curl. If there is no loop, look for a slit at the end of the strap slightly wider than the strap itself. In this instance, pass the far end of the strap through the slit, creating a loop.

    • 2). Fit the hole at the end of the strap opposite the loop around the mandolin endpin. This piece sits at the tail end of the mandolin on the side of the body.

    • 3). Attach the loop at the other end of the strap around the curl. The curl sits just to the side of the fretboard. If necessary, give the loop slack to fit around the curl. Afterward, tighten the loop for a secure fit around the curl.
