How to Replace the Hard Drive in a Dell Latitude D630
- 1). Turn off your Latitude and remove the AC cable if it is connected. Close the screen and turn your laptop upside down.
- 2). Slide the rectangular battery out of its compartment on the underside of the computer. Then locate the rectangular hard drive compartment on the bottom corner of the underside of the computer.
- 3). Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the four screws holding the hard drive in place.
- 4). Grip the hard drive by its edge on the side of the computer and gently pull it out of the laptop.
- 5). Slide the new hard drive (available from your Dell retailer or online) into the hard drive compartment and gently push it in until it can't go any further.
- 6). Replace the two hard drive screws and you are done.
