How to Make Baby Shower Crafts for Kids
- 1). Set up a craft area away from where the food and gifts will be placed but close enough so that the children can be easily supervised and no one will have to miss the party while making the crafts. Spread a layer of newspapers on the floor and place an old sheet on top of them. Set up a card table and chairs.
- 2). Have the kids paint the onesies with fabric paint. Encourage them to create original designs with brushes or to use stamps. They can also tape stencils to the fabric with masking tape and brush an even coat of paint over them.
- 3). Lay the onesies on a flat surface where they won't be knocked over. If the kids have used stencils, help them gently peel off the tape and the stencil when the paint is completely dry.
- 1). Measure and cut a piece of yarn that is at least five feet long.
- 2). Pin the yarn to a wall with pushpins at a height that's easy for the children to reach.
- 3). Instruct the children to cut small pieces of paper and write messages to the baby with the colored pencils.
- 4). Have the kids roll up each note and seal in place with a sticker. Tell them to place them into the socks and hang each sock on the clothesline. The messages can be read aloud by the mother-to-be after the presents have been opened and she can also save the socks for the baby.
- 1). Have the kids paint designs on small terra cotta pots. Let the paint dry.
- 2). The kids can then wrap a piece of ribbon around the pots and tie the ends into a bow.
- 3). Have the kids fill each pot with a thin layer of small rocks, followed by enough potting soil so that it is level with the pot's brim. A older child or adult should help younger children to avoid making a mess.
- 4). Give each child one seed to plant in each pot. The flowerpots can then double as party favors for the guests.
