How to Light Permanently Installed Gas Tiki Torches
- 1). Make sure that all torches are set to the "off" position. Tiki torches that are connected to a single gas source should have their own individual "on" and "off" controls. Check any fittings or hose connections for corrosion or wear.
- 2). Turn on the gas supply at the main valve. For most installations, there will be a main valve that feeds the gas into your torch system. This valve should be turned off when the torch is not in use for safety reasons, and to prevent leaks and gas build-ups.
- 3). Light the first torch. Turn the gas to the "on" position and use a long-handled gas grill lighters to ignite the torch. Some torches are equipped with their own ignition switches, which eliminates the need for a lighter. If your torch has an ignition switch, follow the manufacturer's directions.
- 4). Proceed to the next torch and repeat the process until all torches are lit. When you're done, shut off each torch individually and turn off the gas at the main switch, if applicable.
