    • 1). Change the engine oil every 50 hours by first draining the oil. Remove the oil drain end cap at the base of the engine and drain the oil into a receptacle. Replace the cap. Then refill with oil, following the tiller manufacturer's recommended quantity and type.

    • 2). Change the spark plug every 100 hours. Remove the spark plug lead, unscrew the spark plug, discard it and replace. The gap should follow the recommendations from the manufacturer, but it is often 0.02 to 0.03 inches.

    • 3). Change the air filter every 100 hours by loosening the screws that hold the cover and removing the filter and pre-cleaner. Wash the pre-cleaner and throw out the filter. Replace the existing pre-cleaner after drying it, and dropping a little oil on it. Replace the air filter with a new one.

    • 4). Lubricate the wheel shaft, depth regulator lever and line shaft every 10 hours by coating in grease. Oil the pivot point on the clutch handle and clutch cable at the same time.
