How to Control Globe Nutsedge
- 1). Pour a selective pre-emergent herbicide solution into a spray bottle or garden sprayer in very early spring, before active weed growth begins. This type of herbicide works by preventing seeds already in the soil from sprouting.
- 2). Apply the selective pre-emergent herbicide to areas of the landscape where globe nutsedge grew during the previous growing season.
- 3). Pull globe nutsedge from around ornamental flowers and shrubs that herbicides may damage or kill.
- 4). Fill a spray bottle or garden sprayer with selective post-emergent herbicide solution, which is formulated to kill weeds without harming lawn turf.
- 5). Spray the foliage of globe nutsedge heavily with the herbicide solution.
