If you've tried to get into the market of article writing for profit, you've probably learned that it isn't as easy as they make it sound.
The problem that a lot of people have is they read a little bit on the warrior forums, digital point, or some other marketing forum about folks making a bunch of money and how easy it is so they whip up a few articles, stuff it with links at the end and expect a steady stream of income.
Sorry! It don't work like that! Gone are the days where competition is light and its easy to push a product up to the top of the directory and gone are the days where writing a mediocre article and stuffing it with keywords secures you a page one ranking in Google.
These days you have to be creative with your marketing skills.

You get readers focused in on the topic you're pitching, other websites may syndicate your work, and a back link is still a back link.
Writing articles is still a great way to bring visitors to your site that are interested in the topic of the website.
Since they just got done reading about "pool sticks", your website that pitches "pool sticks" is quite relevant to the visitor.
In this way, you can make money off your site's traffic either through products or advertising.
This takes time though.
Most folks that fail, fail because they give up too early.
Be ready to invest a lot of time before seeing any returns.
Article writing on Fiver: Fiver is a website that is all about offering a service or product that cost five dollars.

Make a blog or website to advertise yourself: Not only do blogs and websites make a good platform to advertise and sell yourself, but they also serve as a database of articles you've written to use as examples of your work to interested clients.
Having articles that you've written and published available for folks to review greatly increases your credibility and adds to sales.
You can advertise your blog in articles you write on forums, directories, signature links, twitter, and just about anywhere else you can add a link.
Advertise on Craigslist: Companies are always looking for cheap publicity, press releases or anything that might increase visibility.
Pitch these services to companies on Craigslist.
Use your website as your portfolio and use it as part of your sales pitch.
Tell your customers what article marketing and press releases can do for their company and that you're willing to do the job professionally for a reasonable price.
Like Fiver, make sure that you get references and ask for job leads when you finish a job.
The article writing market has never been tougher.
None the less, webmasters, syndicates, bloggers, and salesmen are always looking for articles with a great deal of quality and creativity.
Make a good portfolio of original creative articles and don't be afraid to get out there and try something.
Most of the above options take little to no investment other than some time.
