    Creating a Wedding Invitation in Microsoft Vista

    • 1). Open Microsoft Windows Vista by clicking on the short-cut icon located on your desktop or clicking “Start” and finding Microsoft Windows Vista among the list of available programs.

    • 2). Click “File.” Scroll down and click “New.” Wait for a new window to open under the heading “New Document.”

    • 3). Scroll down the alphabetical list of templates and click “Invitations.” Click “Wedding Invitations.”

    • 4). Browse templates for wedding invitations. Choose a template that is similar in tone and style to the wedding ceremony.

    • 5). Insert information inside the provided text boxes, which you can access by moving your mouse pointer over the template. Delete text by clicking on each text box. Highlight the text and click “Delete.” Insert new text.

    • 6). Save the wedding invitation by clicking “Save As” and selecting a file name for your new wedding invitations.

    • 7). Print the wedding invitations by clicking “Print” and choosing the number of copies, which must be entered into the “Number of Copies” box in the “Print Properties” window.

    What to Include in a Wedding Invitation

    • 1). Purchase wedding stationary, which is available in traditional colors such as ivory, cream or white paper, as well as varieties such as tissue paper and heavyweight card stock.

    • 2). Invite invitees to share in the union of the bride and groom. Enter the full names of the groom and bride including the first, last and middle name. It is common to request the attendance of guests in the honor of the bride’s parents. If you follow this tradition, write a simple statement such as, “Mr. and Mrs. Bride’s Parents / Request the honor of Your Presence / At the marriage of their daughter [enter the bride’s name].”

    • 3). Enter the wedding details. Include the date and time, location,and total number of invitees. Include a short statement about the reception including the location, time and parking instructions. You can also use a simple statement such as “Reception to Follow.”
