I sometimes get a pimple on the edge of my lips, but I have one that's pretty sore, so I need to know how to tell the difference between a pimple and a cold sore . I've never had one before, but my dad gets them and I've heard they're hereditary. If it is a cold sore, are there any good remedies that don't cost a lot?

Stop eating what brings it on; chocolate, nuts, fetta, olives, dried tomatoes. Stay out of the wind and sun.
You can go to your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for pills that will make them go away faster than without. You do not need a prescription for this. The pills will need to be refrigerated once you get them home. Also eating yogurt will help. Yogurt has: goodies" in it that will help the cold sore go away. I would call your pharmacist and see if you could get the pills there before showing up. The pills work the fastest. So for now, NO PICTURES. Hope it goes away soon, they can be painful.
