Huangshan is regarded as the world's natural and cultural double inheritance and a World Geopark, it is one of China's top ten attractions and one of national 5A-class tourist attractions. As a national scenic area, it is located in the southern territory of Huangshan City (under the management of municipal Territory). The image of Huangshan is the flag of Anhui tourism. Huangshan is formerly known as Yi Shan, because the mountains and stones looks green and black at there time. Later, because it was said that x Huangdi Emperor did this alchemy here, it was renamed as "Huangshan". The famous sign of this mountain is Welcoming Pine Tree, which is also the sign of Anhui Province, as well as China's external symbols. Huangshan is known as the Pine Capital.

Huangshan is about 40 km long form north to south and has a width of 30 km from east to west. The mountain border area of it is about 1200 square kilometers, and the essence part of it is 160.6 square kilometers of Huangshan Scenic Area. Famous peaks here have a number of 72, including "Lotus", "Guangming Ding", "Tian Du" three main peaks. They all have an altitude of above 1800 m or more. There are 1,452 kinds of wild plants in Huangshan, including those that belong to the national first-class protection. There are two types of protection plants, such as ginkgo and other four kinds, as well as other eight kinds of protected categories. There are 10 species in the genus Dendrobium and other endangered species. Six kinds of them are Chinese endemic plants and two kinds are unique in Huangshan Mountain.

Although the best time to visit Huangshan is from March 16 to November 15 for the season, but winter is known to be the best season of Huangshan by visitors. Winter in Huangshan is quite long. Every year in late October or so, it would snow, and from November to next March, the whole mountain will snow. December to next February is known as the most prosperous period of snow, so it the best season to watch snow scenery. Winter is the season of maximum clouds appearring, sometimes billowing clouds is sustainable for three days. But pay attention that Heavenly Capital Peak and Baiyun Stream are sealled off the river at this time. Huangshan has a lot of rainy days and more clouds, with an average annual temperature of 7.8„. Rainfall is concentrated from April to June. At an altitude of 630 meters in the spa area, the average summer temperature is 25„, the average winter temperature is above 0„.
