Choose to use either Epsom salt or sea salt as the base for your bath salt mix. According to the Difference Between website, sea salt is naturally produced by evaporated sea water. It is coarse and discolored in appearance. Sea salt has a refreshing flavor, and it can be used in cooking as well as other things. Epsom salt, on the other hand, is created through a chemical process and is comprised of mostly magnesium. Epsom salt is white in appearance, and it is used primarily for body healing and cooking. Although Epsom salt is used more for body healing and bath soaks than sea salt is, many people prefer the sea salt because it is naturally produced. - 2). Combine 2 cups of sea salt or Epsom salt with a few drops of peppermint essential oil in a gallon-sized plastic sealable bag. Close the bag as soon as you add the peppermint oil. This will keep most of the aroma in and allow it to be absorbed by the salt. Although you can use any essential oil, peppermint oil is recommended by the Homemade Gift Guru because of its ability to make people feel refreshed.
- 3). Mix mustard seed powder and baking soda well in a separate dish.
- 4). Combine the mustard seed mixture with the salt mixture. Reseal the bag and mix them together well.
- 5). Pour the bath salt mixture into a decorative jar or container to present as a gift.
- 1). Measure out 1 cup of sea salt or Epsom salt and set it aside.
