Baby Detergents
Do you need to buy a separate laundry detergent for your baby? The answer is not necessarily. If your baby has any skin conditions or if there is a history of skin sensitivity in the family then it would be safer to use a non scented baby specific detergent on your baby’s clothes. Also a lot of parents like to use baby specific detergent as a personal preference because they simply like the baby sent of the detergent.
When using baby detergent it is useful to know that they comprise of very mild cleansers that will not remove tough stains. So for those white baby suits that have spaghetti sauce down the front you will need to pre treat any stains with a stronger stain remover. If skin sensitivity runs in the family then it would be economical to use a scent free detergent that is not baby specific for all the family as this would have no perfume but the cleansing ingredients would be slightly higher in strength then baby specific detergents saving you time on pretreatments.
For babies with skin irritations or allergies it is better to use organic cleansers to wash all of the baby’s clothes including bed sheets and blankets in a natural organic detergent. Babies with skin allergies will be very sensitive to chemicals even in the smallest amounts so it’s safer to use chemical free products next to their skin to prevent irritations.
