Many people are searching for a fibromyalgia symptom checklist, because they are experiencing symptoms that they believe are related to the condition.
Unfortunately, it is difficult to diagnose this condition because there are not specific blood tests that can be done to determine a diagnosis.
Most patients are diagnosed with the condition when their blood tests come back negative, and the doctor performs a series of tests to locate the fibromyalgia tender points.
Here is the fibromyalgia checklist that we have put together: 1.
Fatigue and trouble sleeping - Many fibromyalgia patients experience a difficulty sleeping, and they feel constant fatigue no matter how much rest they have gotten.
2.
Numbness and tingling in the extremities- A sensation of numbness or tingling may begin to occur in your hands and/or feet.
3.
Pain throughout the body- Your body will feel hypersensitive to any amount of touch or pressure.
The pain usually focuses on specific fibromyalgia tender points, but it also moves throughout the muscles in the entire body.
This is the most defining symptom of fibromyalgia.
4.
Frequent headaches- Usually these headaches are related to the stiffness and pain in the neck and shoulders.
These headaches happen on a regular basis.
5.
Heightened sensitivity to many things- A person experiencing symptoms of fibromyalgia will usually experience a higher sensitivity to things such as light, noises, smells, and touch.
6.
Depression and mood changes- Many patients report signs of depression and drastic mood changes.
These symptoms vary between patients, and the levels of intensity change depending on the circumstances.
If you are experiencing these symptoms, you should contact your doctor to see if you are diagnosed with the condition of fibromyalgia syndrome.
