What "Repeal and Replace" Really Means
No matter how many seats the Republicans pick up (or don't pick up) this November they will not be able to repeal this health care bill because President Obama would simply veto any such repeal.
The Republicans know that, yet they run on it anyway.
I am assuming this means they think their supporters are too ignorant to know this fact? What Does "Repeal and Replace" Mean? #1 $1.
3 Trillion Increase In The Deficit This reform cuts the deficit by $1.
3 trillion over the next 20 years so reversing it would have the opposite effect.
Repealing this law would increase the deficit by $1.
3 trillion! #2 Huge Tax Increase On Small Businesses Health care reform includes tax credits which will cover up to 50% of health insurance costs for the employees of small businesses.
Because of the huge amount of money these tax credits will save for small businesses it is actually the biggest tax cut in US history for small businesses thus when the Republicans run on "repeal" they are running on increasing taxes on small businesses.
#3 Making It Legal (Again) For Health Insurance Companies To Deny People Coverage Due To "Pre-Existing Conditions.
" #4 Making It Legal (Again) For Health Insurance Companies To Drop Coverage From People When They Get Sick.
#5 Getting Rid Of Health Care Coverage For 32 Million Americans.
This health care bill is expanding coverage to 32 million Americans.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the reverse of this is to drop coverage for those 32 million Americans.
#6 Reducing Medicare Benefits This bill closes the "Donut Hole" and allows those on Medicare to visit the doctor without paying "co-pays.
" If the Republicans get their way these new Medicare benefits would be taken away.
#7 Kicking Young Adults Off For Their Family's Health Insurance Coverage This bill allows for young adults (18 to 26 year olds) to be covered by their family's health insurance policies.
If you repeal this bill, those young adults would be kicked off their health insurance coverage.
