How to String Beads on Hemp
- 1). Cut two hemp strings a little longer than your desired length of the hemp jewelry. Cut two more strings five times longer than the completed length of your piece; this will be used to make knots around the beads.
- 2). Take the two shorter strings and insert them carefully into the hole in the bead. Place the four strings next to each other and knot them at one end. Lay the two strings with the bead on them at the center with the bead near the knotted end of the strings.
- 3). Place the longer string on the right across the two in the center and below the left longer string. Place the left longer string below the two in the center and then up and over the right longer string. Tighten the knot by pulling on it.
- 4). Lay the left longer string across the middle ones and below the right longer one. Place the right longer string below the two middle ones and then up and over the left longer string. Tighten the knot by pulling on it again.
- 5). Add more beads according to your tastes and trap each one with the knots. To complete the piece, knot the strings together at the end and cut the excess string off using scissors.
