How to Put New Cords on Rollup Blinds

    • 1). Remove the blind from the window. Pop open the plug on the end of the bottom rail with the flat head of a screwdriver.

    • 2). Snip the knot at the end of the lift cord with a pair of scissors. Pull the cord all the way out of the slats but not from the top rail. Take off the slats.

    • 3). Slip one end of the new cord into the head rail while still keeping the old cord. Thread the new cord along the direction of the old cord until it comes out at the hole on the other end. Push out the old cord.

    • 4). Hang the blind back up on the window. Extend the new cord all the way to the bottom rail while stretching out the rollup blind to its full length.

    • 5). Replace the slats on their string ladders. Thread the new cord through the holes in the slats. Knot the new cord under the bottom rail. Cut the cord short to the knot. Replace the plug of the bottom rail.
