Kanto Routes

• 1). Travel to Route 13, 14 or 15. All of these areas are in southeastern Kanto, which you can access by traveling east from Fuchsia City.
  
  
• 2). Explore the tall grass until you encounter a wild Chansey. The Pokemon only has a one percent encounter rate unless it appears in a swarm on Route 13. To check for swarms, use your PokeGear Radio to access Professor Oak's talk show, during which he will report the location of a Pokemon swarm. The swarms change daily. During a swarm, Chansey's encounter rate rises to 40 percent.
  
  
• 3). Attack Chansey during a battle to lower its health and then throw a PokeBall to capture it. Chansey will be at Level 25, so battle it with a Pokemon of equal strength.
  
  

Johto Safari Zone

• 1). Go to the Safari Zone in Johto by traveling northwest from Cianwood City.
  
  
• 2). Place 12 plains objects in the Meadow area using the Safari Zone's Object Arrangement feature.
  
  
• 3). Explore the tall grass until you encounter a Chansey. The Chansey in this area are at Level 42.
  
  
• 4). Capture Chansey in a Safari Ball.
