The Dodge Brothers, John and Horace, begin building Dodge cars in 1914 and engines for the Ford Motor Company. They started making trucks in 1917 that were shipped to France during World War I. - Dodge Brothers was acquired by Chrysler in 1928. It introduced its first half-ton pickup the following year.
