Is Freelance Home Writers a Scam?
But it does have a lot of negative publicity surrounding it, and with good reason.
Basically to join this training program you pay $2.
95 up front by signing up with your credit card details.
Of course this sounds very reasonable and it gets thousands of new members every day.
However, the problem lies in the fact that people don't always read the small print when signing up.
The truth is that this $2.
95 is only for a 7 day trial, and after the 7 days your credit card will automatically be charged $47 (and another $47 per month for every month you're a member).
This isn't always made very clear to the unsuspecting consumer.
The onus is on the buyer to cancel the membership before the end of this trial - and unfortunately many people either don't realise it's a trial or just forget to cancel, resulting in their credit cards being charged.
The program itself isn't bad.
Although Freelance Home Writers don't guarantee you any work they do teach you the essentials and provide you with all the leads and information you need to get started.
The members area is pretty comprehensive and can help get you started in your freelance writing career (although personally I don't know if it's worth $47 per month).
Because of the slightly shady billing process though I don't recommend them, as there are many similar information products and programs available to join for just a one time fee (with no further re-billing).
