Especially when we talk about Asian Cuisine the Rice is pretty common ingredient out here. In Malaysia and Thailand you can't even think about the recipes without Rice so as in India. In India in Mughlai cuisine Biryani is mouth watering delicacy for rice lovers and for non veggie food lovers too. Rice recipes are widespread across Asia.

State wise when we talk about India only the rice oriented dishes are quite different. Indian Rice Recipes state wise are; In Bihar people prefer Curd rice, Poha which is a kind of Stuff made by rice crop only are pretty much in. In Uttar Pradesh Daal Rice, Rajma rice, Kadhi Rice, are in food habits of people. When we talk about Delhi, Haryana and Panjab, Kadhi Rice, Rajma rice, Chole Rice, Chane Rice, Biryani, etc is loved by all. And they can't even think of food without Rice. In Southern parts of India Lemon Rice, Sambhar Rice are quiet common and even Idli which they had with Nariyal chatni or alongwith Sambhar is made of Rice only.

Fried Rice along with Manchurian or with Baked Vegetable or even with Chilly paneer/chicken is the blockbuster simple Rice recipes of any restaurant across country.

 To make fried rice you just need to have ¾ cooked Basmati Rice, Chopped carrots, French beans, Paneer, Cabbage and Capsicum, apart from that MSG, vinegar, soy sauce, little bit of tomato sauce, black pepper and salt. Rice oriented dishes are healthy, full of Carbs and even tasty also. Pulaos are the Dishes of Nawaabs of Lucknow and Hyderabad, it is specially a recipe of Mughal Era but we Indians make these Pulaos occasionally or when we need to impress our guests. Zaafraani pulao, Matar Pulao, dry Friut and Kesaria Pulao.  Hyderabadi Lamb Biryani and Chicken Biryanis are also a part of Pulaos but these are Non Veggie delights.

Geographically in India rice is pretty common and found everywhere, but there are several varieties of Rice available so you have to choose your rice very nicely and delicately according to the flavor of your Dish. The best Rice is known as Basmati Rice which is the King of Rice. This rice blends in the flavors of every rice recipe very well so it is the most commonly used rice.
