Generally, women experience cramps for a very long time in their lives.
It is not something new.
Women when they start their menstruation, they start experiencing cramping.
There is no specific evidence or reasons cited by the doctors as to why these cramps occur just before the periods.
However, when cramping occurs in pregnant women, it could mean various things.
First of all, several women experience cramps in their pregnancy.
However, one should be smart enough to recognize the accompanying symptoms.
Like if there is blood along with the cramps, for example, then it could be a warning sign that something is wrong with the pregnancy.
However, such symptoms do not occur before the fifth month.
There are many reasons for cramping in pregnancy and there is no reason to worry about.
In some cases it may be false labor.
This kind of labor can be triggered due to several factors like stress or prenatal depression.
There are several precursors for the cramps.
The problem is the cramps are very identical to the labor pains a pregnant woman actually faces.
Once the pregnant woman crosses five months, it could be a sign of pre labor and it should not be underestimated.
One should get medical attention immediately by calling 911.
Also, it could just mean a ligament hurt that could sort itself later.
As a pregnant woman, you only need to worry when you have bleeding along with cramping and when the lower portion of your belly becomes tender.
If you see any kind of tissue matter in your discharge, then it could mean preterm labor.
Immediately rush to the hospital without waiting.
