• Milwaukee Area Technical College is a two-year college in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The college offers an associate's degree for students wishing to enter the field as game designers. Students are asked to choose whether they want their focus to be on animation or on programming. The degree is called an "associates in applied science in information technology--computer simulation and gaming." • While Wisconsin doesn't boast the largest group of video game schools, students are able to gain a certificate of game design at Flashpoint, the Academy of Media Arts and Sciences in Chicago, Illinois. The college offers certificates in visual effects, animation and game design. Depending on where in Wisconsin the student is situated, Chicago can be just a short drive away.
