How do I Remove a Stereo from a 1994 Taurus?
- 1). Turn the Taurus's engine off and open the hood. Look in the corner of the engine compartment to find the battery. Loosen the bolt around the black battery post with pliers or a wrench.
- 2). Grasp the black battery cable and pull it straight up to remove it from the battery. This keeps you safe while you are removing the Taurus's stereo.
- 3). Locate the two sets of holes on the Taurus's stereo. There is one set on each side. Insert your stereo hooks into each side. Push the hooks firmly in place.
- 4). Push the hooks outward to disengage the interior stereo clips. Hold the clips firmly while pushing outward, and then pull the stereo toward you to slide it out.
- 5). Unplug the two wiring harness connections from the rear of the stereo, and then unplug the small antenna cable. The stereo is now separated.
