All fiction stories consist of exposition, rising action, climax, denouement and resolution. - A theme should Include details: personification, metaphors, similes and vivid sense images. Conflicts can be individuals versus society, individual versus nature or individual versus himself. Use transitional words leading to a chronologically ordered turning point in the story. Present a consistent point of view: first person, third person observer or third person omniscient. Express the main idea as a proverb or general belief. Inject yourself into a short story for originality. Short stories in which the writer places himself in the time and place of a historical figure or a famous scientist will lead to an original plot.
