Master Your Self-Talk to Master Your Life

The most important conversations that you will ever have are the ones you have with yourself.
Our self-talk plays a big part in the development of our attitudes and habits and will dictate whether we are to become a glass half full person or a glass half empty person.
It is not something that many people pay much attention to; after all, they are only thoughts, right? Wrong! They are much more than just fleeting words and images.
When we consistently dirty our mind with jealous, vengeful, bitter or negative thoughts, we are actually creating a future filled with just that.
Only who knows this? No-one, of course.
Look at this quote by Law of Attraction Teacher, John Assaraf: "Be very careful what you say to yourself, because someone very important is listening...
You!" In fact, to be more exact, your subconscious mind is listening and learning.
Learning that you wish to be a negative, limited person who rarely takes risks or chances.
Your thoughts when thought over and over again, become your wish, and your subconscious mind is essentially the "genie" in the lamp that will grant your wishes.
Where do you think ideas come from? Ideas come from your subconscious mind, and they are sent to you because you expressed an interest in a certain subject, with enough power and consistency that your subconscious mind supplied you with ways to get more of it, in the form of ideas.
The same goes for negative thoughts or self-talk so be careful and be aware.
Try these 4 techniques to help reduce your negative self-talk.
• Thought Catching- Learn to identify the self-defeating thoughts that pop into your mind while you are feeling sad, stressed or depressed.
Observe them and get to know them.
• Thought Evaluation- By observing your thoughts as they arise, you will be able to see them for what they really are, and pick out the ones that are based on inaccurate generalizations and suppositions.
• Accurate explanation- Replace the negative thoughts with realistic, positive thoughts that make you feel better.
• Decatastrophizing- Rather than paralyze yourself with thoughts of what might go wrong, focus on solutions to the problem at hand.
"You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude towards what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change, rather than allowing it to master you.
" - Brian Tracey Master your thoughts for they are yours with which to mold your life, and through mastering them you will be able to develop an unstoppable attitude of positivity and purpose.
No obstacle will be too much for you to overcome, and anyway, most obstacles are self-imposed by negative thinking.
Think consistently positive thoughts and obstacles will be revealed for what they really are, illusions of a fearful and negative mind.
