Bullets in Your Copy Are Important

Especially in running a website it seems that prospects have very little time to really hunker down and go though a page of even well written copy.
Many are skimmers and when you create sub-heading and bullet points that really maintain their attention, then you are winning the game.
Bullets should be major attention grabbers and it takes a bit of thought.
You need to sit and make a list of the most important benefits that your product or service has to offer.
After you have created the list then it is time to prioritize that list and make your bullets as interesting as they can be.
Just as important, while creating this list of strongest benefits, You also want to take into consideration any obvious objections that a customer will be looking to overcome.
The more objections you can cover in your copy, the better, as this will remove resistance to the ultimate goal and or purchase.
Bullet points are a terrific way to get the skimmer the most important information, and still keep them on the page and if done correctly can even cause them stop and say, hey I'd better take a closer look at this page.
don't let the skimmers stop you from writing long copy either.
I get this question all the time.
Long copy will in fact out sell short copy every time.
The important things to address when you are creating your bullets is, making them bold and be specific.
You are driving home the important facts about your product or service.
Then try to convey how this is most going to help your prospect make their decision.
Discuss common problems that are typically faced by your target audience and write your resolutions in the bullet paragraphs.
How many bullets should one use in there copy? Well that depends on your list.
For myself I typically would use 10 to 20 bullets broken up over 2 to 3 different sections.
The choice is ultimately yours.
However remember this is your chance to highlight and solve resistance issues.
Can you over do bullets?? Yes, absolutely! Remember your copy should be a flowing story.
So it is important the you choose wisely.
Between bullet sections try not to make your paragraphs terribly long while guiding them to the next set of bullets! I have had as many as 5 to 10 different sections each with 5 to 10 different bullet points.
Your list that you create is going to be your guide and in many cases you may find that your bullet points will in fact almost your copy for you.
I am all about research, and seeing what others are doing when it comes to writing copy is important, how are they laying out their pages? Do you like what see? Does the structure make you comfortable or do you find it disorganized and a bit outta control.
Mini sites are the best examples of copy, as they very text driven and seeking out a few in your given niche will go a long way in improving your skills.
