Visitors can easily access the island via the bridge connecting it with mainland Florida. The island itself has a host of attractions such as camping at the state park; fishing; island-hopping excursions; and dolphin spotting, bird watching, biking and swimming on the white-sand beaches of St. George Bay.     Blue Parrot Ocean Front Café

    • Blue Parrot Ocean Front Café is the only restaurant on St. George Island that sits right on the beach. Florida Monthly magazine has cited it as the Best Outdoor Café in the area. The restaurant's atmosphere is casual and family friendly, and diners can enjoy a variety of dishes and samplers ranging from Angus steaks to freshly-caught local seafood. The owners, Steve Rash and George Joanos, both live on the island and have operated Water Street Seafood in the mainland town of Apalachicola for many years. The pair makes sure the seafood at the Blue Parrot is hand-picked everyday from the highest quality catch. Sample starters include blue crab claws, calamari, conch fritters and Apalachicola Bay oysters. The restaurant also offers a range of sandwiches and desserts, including Key Lime pie. The bar serves draft and bottled beer as well as frozen drinks. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.

    Harry A's Restaurant and Bar

    • Harry A's Restaurant and Bar fronts the bay on St. George Island and features a relaxed island atmosphere in tune with its surroundings and décor. The restaurant has an inner courtyard where guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner under strategically-placed umbrellas. The restaurant's menu ranges from French toast to breakfast pizza for breakfast diners, seafood gumbo, crab cakes and even fried gator tail for starters as well as salads and a "fit 'n trim" menu. Bay baskets are also a popular choice and feature a variety of fresh local seafood. Entrees include steak, ribs, lobster and side items. The kitchen staff prepares oysters in a variety of ways. Harry A's features live music every evening with karaoke on certain days as well as TVs featuring regular sports games. The restaurant is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and closes at 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday. The establishment accepts take-out orders.

    • BJ's Pizza and Subs is just about the only restaurant on St. George Island that doesn't serve seafood. The ambiance of the restaurant is casual, with an emphasis on convenience and relaxation for the patrons---especially for families wanting to enjoy a casual dining experience. Its specialties are pizzas and American classics such as buffalo wings and cheese steak sandwiches. Fixtures on the menu include hand-tossed specialty pizzas, such as the popular shrimp pesto pizza, as well as salads and sandwiches. There is a game room for children, and the restaurant also serves wine and beer.
