How to Replace a Color Wheel on a RCA DLP
- 1). Check the schematic drawings for the TV twice. Become familiar with the parts you will be working with before you open the set. Make sure that your hands are clean and that you have good lighting to enable you to see clearly.
- 2). Remove the lower access panel from the back of the set. To the left of the lamp housing, you see the color wheel. Unplug the two leads and, using the Torx screwdriver, carefully remove the three screws that hold the wheel to the lamp housing.
- 3). Detach the old color wheel from the small circuit board and set it aside. Attach the new wheel to the board, being careful not to scratch the wheel itself in the process. Plug the leads back in and install the back cover.
