System Requirements

• Xubuntu can be installed on any computer (Mac, PC or Linux). The system does not have to be of a generation concurrent with the particular Ubuntu or Xubuntu versions: You can always use the latest available version of Xubuntu on any machine, whether old or brand-new. You needa Xubuntu installation CD, which you'll download and burn, as well as an Internet connection for the installation process.
  
  

CD Burning

• On the Ubuntu website, access and download the latest version of the installation disk available for your type of computer. This is the ISO, essentially the "face" of the installation disk for the Ubuntu OS. Make a bootable physical CD in its image by burning the file onto a CD using any operating system's built-in CD authoring software. After the Installation

• Xubuntu comes bundled with most applications you'll normally need for your daily dealings: word processing, graphics production, media playback and a database framework, so you should be able to fully use and enjoy your new system on installation. The sturdy OS lends itself to easy fixes and updates without the need to wipe out and reinstall; if issues arise, you can always burn another ISO disk at a later date. Viruses are not common on Xubuntu, as few virus makers target this lesser-used OS. However, if you're running a Windows directory, scanning periodically for viruses is highly recommended.
