    • 1). Clear a work space on a sturdy table or desk.

    • 2). Strip the end off of one end of the coaxial cable using your wire cutters, exposing the copper wires inside.

    • 3). Fit the UHF connector over the end of the wire so that the copper wiring sticks out of the end of the adapter.

    • 4). Use your soldering iron to solder the end of the copper wiring to the connector.

    • 5). Strip at least 39 inches off of the remaining end of the coaxial cable and run the cable through an equal length of PVC pipe.

    • 6). Tape the end of the coaxial cable to the end of the PVC pipe, so that the cable lines the inside of the pipe.

    • 7). Connect the UHF connector end of the cable to the input port on your radio receiver.
