Blot a fresh urine stain with an absorbent rag or paper towel; avoid rubbing the urine, as this can actually work the urine deeper into your floor if it is carpeted. Stand on the rag while it covers the urine to absorb as much of the urine as possible. Use a new paper towel and repeat until the liquid is mopped up. - 2

Mix 1 cup of water with a drop of liquid dish soap (enough to create a sudsy solution without overpowering the water with soap.) Pour the soapy water on the urine spot and let it set for an hour to allow it to soak into the entire soiled area. If the floors are made of wood, use the solution more sparingly. - 3

Pat the area again with a fresh rag or paper towels. Make sure not to rub the area as you work. Absorb all the water possible before pouring straight water on the area and again blotting up. - 4

Wet the soiled area with a mixture of 50 percent white vinegar and 50 percent water to neutralize the acid in the urine. Allow the mixture to set an hour before patting with fresh rags or paper towels. At this point all, soap residue and urine should be removed. - 5

Pour enough club soda over the entire area to saturate. Soak the area for 10 to 20 minutes before patting dry with a rag or paper towel. If club soda is not available, substitute approximately 1/2 cup baking soda; sprinkle baking soda over area, then drizzle enough hydrogen peroxide on top to create a thick paste. Work the club soda or baking soda mixture into carpeting with a brush or gloved fingers. Let dry thoroughly. - 6
