How to Calculate Maximum Mod

    • 1). Divide the desired partial pressure in oxygen by percentage of oxygen mixture. For example, if the oxygen is a 34 percent mix and the desired partial pressure in oxygen is 1.4, your computation will look like this: 1.4 / 0.34 = 4.38.

    • 2). Subtract one from the total obtained in Step 1. For example: 4.38 - 1 = 3.38.

    • 3). Multiply the total obtained in Step 2 by 10 to determine MOD. For example: 10 * 3.38 = 33.8. This is your maximum operating depth in meters. The entire formula will set up like this: 10 * [(1.4 / 0.34) - 1] = MOD in meters.
