Instructions on How to Build a Simple Robot
- 1). Cut the head off of the toothbrush. Leave roughly a half-inch of neck behind to stabilize your robot.
- 2). Set the head bristle side down and lay a strip of double-sided tape across the flat head of the toothbrush to form a mounting surface.
- 3). Position the cell phone/pager motor at the opposite end of the toothbrush as the snipped-off neck, and press down firmly to secure the connection. Make sure the turning shaft won't impact the toothbrush when turning.
- 4). Lay one of the motor wires down flat against the sticky tape. Press the coin cell battery down on top of this wire firmly to secure the connection.
- 5). Curve the other wire down to touch the top of the battery, completing the circuit and sending your robot scooting away across any smooth surface you put it on.
