    • 1). Drink lots of water each day. According to the American Dietetic Association, a person needs at least 8 to 10 cups of water every day. The water helps to flush out toxins, poisons and harmful substances that may cause the eyelid inflammation. Drinking water also helps to flush out all areas of the body.

    • 2). Eat fruits or vegetables each day. According to the Mayo Clinic a person needs to eat at least 20 to 35 grams of fiber each day. Fiber helps the body to eliminate fecal matter by adding bulk to the stools. Cleaning out the colon is one way to cleanse out the entire body. If the wastes are not removed from the colon, the body continues to hold these toxic substances that contribute to the blepharititis. Fruits and vegetable also contain nutrients that help fight bacteria and allergic reactions.

    • 3). Exercise regularly. Do at least 20 minutes of aerobic exercise three times a week. Exercise burns fat and this is where most toxins are stored. The Mayo Clinic also reports that exercise stimulates intestinal activity that leads to more frequent bowel movements that clean out the colon. Because blepharitis is a chronic condition it is important to keep the amount of toxins and wastes in the body at a manageable level.
