Before You Register

• 1). Choose the stores you would like to register with. Usually, two to three stores will be enough to ensure a variety of places for guests to shop.
  
  
• 2). Create a list of the general items you would like to receive. If you are registering at multiple stores, the list will help you narrow down your choices and help avoid adding the same items at different stores.
  
  
• 3). Check each store's website to be sure they accept wedding registrations---most large chain or department stores, such as Target, Macy's, Wal-Mart and even Amazon.com have a registry link on their homepage.
  
  

Registering at a Chain or Department Store Online

• 1). Go to the website of the store you plan on registering with and click the "gift registry" or "wedding registry" link, which is usually located on the homepage. Most sites will have you create an account before you can begin forming your list.
  
  
• 2). Once your account is created and you are logged in to your registry list, begin browsing the store's online catalog. Remember to check items off the list you made as you add them to the registry.
  
  
• 3). Each store's website will instruct you on how to finalize your list when you have finished adding items. Once finalized, it will be available at the store and online for your guests to view.
