The village of Scotia is part of the Albany-Schenectady-Troy metro area, and lies 144 miles north of New York City. Scotia was officially incorporated as a village in 1904. While visiting Scotia, take time to enjoy some of the local museums and historical landmarks. Take advantage of the many lakes, parks and forests in the area. For kids, there is a children's museum. After a long day of activity try one of the local eateries. - Angelo's Tavelo opened its doors in early 2009 and is located in the historic Glen Sanders mansion and is decorated with a modern Italian theme. Try their bar menu for a snack or light dinner with salads, soups and sandwich selections. Angelo's offers a price fix menu of three courses, or you can order ala carte from many beef, chicken, seafood or pasta dishes. They offer a special pasta dinner with samples of four different pasta dishes. The menu also includes some gluten-free items. They are open Monday through Saturday for dinner and Sunday for brunch. The lounge is open every day from 4 pm.

Enjoy the cozy dining room with the fireplace blazing in the cold winter months. Start your dinner with an appetizer sampler including shrimp, artichokes and petite crab cakes. Main entrees include filet mignon, chicken parmesan and herb encrusted pork. Vegetarian selections include pastas made with red and white sauces and vegetables. Combo dinners for the undecided include chicken and steak, veal and shrimp, and shrimp and steak. The dessert menu changes daily.
