Blogging - It"s Just An Online Journal

It is with somewhat of a surprise I find myself writing a blog.
Why? Well, it's because it's an on-line journal, or diary entry and I've never been one for diaries.
I remember as a child it was the in thing to have lockable ones, and one Christmas I was given a pink, five-year,lockable type.
I probably used it for about two or three months before I realised the colour shoes Amy wore to school, or the fact Jane fell out with Sophie because they both liked Alan was hardly inspirational or interesting.
Had we not moved house it would probably still be under the bed gathering dust.
However, as I've grown older and wiser I realise I do sometimes have something to say, and unlike the entries in my old diary, they might just be worth airing.
Blogs are unquestionably the easiest and cheapest way to have an on-line presence on the internet.
If you have a Blogger account it is completely free and you can be chatting to the world within minutes.
Some people do.
It's a way of keeping in touch with family and friends.
Others just write for the sake of writing.
They comment on the world at large, observe and complain and accept comments from other people so they get an on-line discussion (or argument) going.
For many people who are naturally shy and not very good at socialising on a personal basis, it is a very good way to boost their self-esteem.
The point about blogs is they are written by real people in real time and everyone has an opinion on something.
Some are very educational, or amusing.
The best ones are both.
Recently businesses have become to realise their potential and many have used them successfully to easily attract more customers.
By writing more informally their company appears more "real".
They become people as opposed to names and their products or services therefore become more appealing.
Well, I'm a real person and hopefully now I'm older I'll be able to provide some interesting, educational and amusing content.
Only time will, tell, but I have a feeling that unlike my diary my blog will not be collecting dust.
