How to Make Paper Curls With Photoshop Elements 6
- 1). Load an image that you would like to create a page curl effect for onto your computer.
- 2). Open Photoshop Elements 6. Select "File" from the menu and choose "Open." In the dialog that appears, locate the file you loaded and double-click on it to open it.
- 3). Right-click on the background layer in the "Layers" palette and choose "Duplicate Layer." In the dialog, click "OK."
- 4). Select the background layer and click on the "Create New Layer" button. Select the "Paint Bucket" tool and use it to fill the new layer with the color you want for the background behind the curled page.
- 5). Select the top layer and and click on the "Create New Layer" button. Select the "Rectangular Marquee" tool, and draw a selection in the new layer over the lower-left corner of the image.
- 6). Use the "Paint Bucket" tool to fill the selection with roughly the color you want for the backside of the curled page. Then use the "Polygonal" selection tool to select the lower-left corner of the square you just made and delete it.
- 7). Select "Filter" from the menu and choose "Liquify." In the dialog, use the "Push" tool to push the corner and edges of the shape back to make it look more like a curled page. Click "OK."
- 8). Change the "Foreground" and "Background" colors to be darker and lighter variations of the color you filled with in Step 6. Select the "Gradient" tool and use it to give the shape a more 3D appearance. Save your work.
