How to Replace the Plastic Front Strip on a Maytag Gemini
- 1). Unplug the power cord from the Maytag Gemini range or turn off the electrical breaker for the range at your breaker box.
- 2). Shimmy the range away from the wall.
- 3). Locate the two screws on the metal backguard panel of the range and then unscrew them with a Phillips screwdriver. There are two screws on the edge of the panel and two screws in the center; unscrew the ones on the edges. The screws in the center will unscrew the control panel; leave those screws in place.
- 4). Move to the front of the range and pull off the plastic panel that frames the control panel.
- 5). Line the new frame piece up around the control panel and push down on it to hold it into place.
- 6). Insert the two screws back into the backguard panel on the back side of the range and then screw them back into place.
- 7). Scoot the range back into place, then plug the Maytag Gemini range back in or turn the power back on at the electrical breaker box.
