Paper Illusions Ideas
- If your countertops are beginning to look worn with cracks, nicks, burns and chips, cover the counter with paper illusions. Choose something in a tan or gray swirl pattern that resembles a traditional marble or formica countertop.
- Use paper illusions to cover up all of those tough food stains and grease on the kitchen backsplash. Use a pattern that fits in with the colors and theme of your kitchen. If you are already using paper illusions on your countertop, the backsplash will look much better if you choose a different color and pattern.
- Decorate your bathroom vanity countertop with paper illusions. As with the kitchen, choose a color and pattern that will give the vanity a marble appearance. The paper looks especially nice on old formica countertops that are chipped and cracked around the corners or edges. You can wrap the paper underneath the edges of the counter to cover all of the flaws and imperfections.
- If you have a small trash can in your bathroom, decorate it with paper illusions to match the vanity. Or instead of decorating the vanity, cover the vanity accessories with paper illusions. Use the paper on the Kleenex container, soap dispenser and light switch plate cover. If you do decide to decorate the accessories, do not cover the vanity and vice versa or the papers will clash.
- Use paper illusions in children's rooms. Instead of wallpapering the child's entire wall with the paper, cut out characters, such as trucks, dinosaurs and dolls, and place them on the walls. You can also use paper illusions cut-out figures on toy boxes, the sides of bookshelves and other favorite toys. Or just hang a border around the room adorned with a favorite Scooby-Doo or Raggedy Ann character.
- Paper illusions can even be used to decorate floors. If you have an old vinyl floor that you just cannot get clean no matter how hard you scrub it, paper illusions may be the answer. Select a pattern and color that look similar to a ceramic tile or marble floor. Cover the entire floor with the paper.
