    Photo Contest

    • Invite photographers, amatuer or professional or both, to submit their photos of outdoor photography. The photography can be of a specific subject such as a couple in the park, be nature orientated or outdoor architecture oriented. Display the photos for the public to vote on. Choose a variety of categories for the voting such as "best use of light," "most creative," and "best overall." Award prizes to the winners and encourage the photographers with an established or new business to bring brochures and business cards to distribute to interested members of the public. The event will serve as a venue for the public to peruse photography and a platform photographers to showcase their talent.

    Outdoor Photo Session

    • Promote and advertise a free outdoor photography session for the public to gain free outdoor photo sessions. Families who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford family pictures and couples who would not normally splurge on engagement pictures, for example, will benefit from the event. Aspiring photographers will also receive the opportunity to grow their business and professional portfolios through the event. Begin by signing up photographers willing to donate a day of their time to shooting outdoor photos and compiling a list of outdoor locations such as a public park, city gardens, local library grounds or a lush area forest. Promote the event and fill time slots on a first come, first serve basis. Provide refreshments at each outdoor shooting location to round out the experience.

    Outdoor Photography Auction

    • For a fundraiser for a local cause or charity create an outdoor photography auction event. Contact local photographers and ask them to donate one or several photos that convey an "outdoor" theme. Ask the photographers to also mount and frame any donated photos for proper presentation. Allow the participating photographers to display their business cards and business catalogs and brochures along with their donated photos. Promote the place, date and time of the photo auction, as well as information about the cause and the participating photographers with press releases sent to local newspapers and news stations. Display the photos and hold an auction to raise money for the charity or cause.

    Photographer's Challenge

    • Every season, invite local amatuer and professional photographers to participate in an outdoor photo challenge. The participating photographers must submit outdoor photos that showcase the current season. Each season, the best photo submission will be chosen by the general public. The photo can be displayed on a website, in a local newspaper or on a local news broadcast. Coordinate with a local museum or art gallery to display the winning photography in their establishment for the duration of the season, which can help build business for a local photographer.
