The sarees vigor, radiance and variety, produced by a single straight length of cloth, should give us in the West a pause and make us think twice about the zipper, the dart and the shoulder pad Western Designers.

A famous western model was walking the ramp in a sari for the first time, and carried it of well. During the after party, when she had to speak to the media about her experience, she said that wearing a sari was a lot like falling in love. The sari made her feel good, giddy and sensuous- like a million bucks just how you feel when you are in love!

If that is one story, the second belongs to a simple college girl, who had to wear something white for the college day function. When all her peers were out buying the shortest white outfit, she opted for a simple white georgette sari and walked into the college feeling sheepish. And to her surprise, she was the cynosure of all eyes that day with unknown aces complementing her for sari, and she blushed like a new bride. Since then, she swears by the sari telling all her friends to try it at least once, assuring them that they will fall in love with it.

The sari is universally flattering in a sense that the sari is the only garment that can make any type of woman look like a princess. In India, the sari is an everyday garment, worn by working women, and women at home. They are also worn at parties and astonishingly; simple saris in subtle colors are good corporate wear.

Depending on the way the sari is worn, it can make women look different altogether. When a woman, not considering her age, wears a sari she can look stunning.

Brides all over the country wear the traditional saris like banaras and kanjeevaram saris that are woven on the loom with golden zari. A south Indian wedding is not considered complete without the bride wearing a sari.

Another beautiful clothing made popular by Indian women is the salwar kurta. This garment is very comfortable, and easy to wear. The latest style of salwar kurta which has become a rage all over is the Anarkali type, made with net. Most youngsters wear this garment to college and work.

The different types of salwar suits like banaras, cotton, chiffon etc vary in quality and price. Young girls are preferring the net anarkalis as party wear.
