Nano: Commoner"s Dream Car

By definition an automobile or car is a wheeled vehicle that carries its own motor and transports passengers.
The automobiles we know today were not invented in a single day by a single inventor.
It is estimated that over 100,000 patents created the modern automobiles.
Karl Benz built the world's first practical automobile and Henry ford improved the assembly line etc and many others were behind the manufacturing of today's car.
Alfa Romeo, BMW, Bugatti, Ferrari, Lexus, Mercedes Benz etc are the most expensive and fastest cars of the world within the reach of wealthy few.
Buying a car was considered a luxury well above the reach of common Indian man till Ratan Tata, Chairman Tata Motors introduced the "NANO", the common man's car! NANO is available at a price of ` 100000 making it the world's cheapest car.
With best engineers of its field Tata Motors has created the NANO within a short span of few years.
Still there are a lot of criticism regarding its features as described below but no doubt in my view NANO PROJECT IS A SUCCESSFUL CSR (CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY).
They are mentioned as follows:- 1.
According to some of the critics, the NANO is an environmental nightmare.
But they fail to understand that despite the car's size and engine being small, the NANO conformed to Bharat III emission norms and the engine conformed to Euro III standards on exhaust proving itself better than the two wheelers which are high on emission of gases, polluting the environment and safer too as the two wheelers have a high accident rate compared to four wheelers (cars).
2.
While talking of safety, NANO includes a strong passenger compartment, intrusion resistant door, seat belts, sturdy seats and anchorage...
and all these just for INR ONE LAKH! 3.
Traffic congestion- Indian economy is one of the fastest growing economies in the world & with that grows its infrastructure.
With more cars on the bad conditioned roads comes the need for better roads which are bound to develop with the steady rise in the transportation either public or private.
4.
Sustainability- NANO is a light car made of aluminum instead of steel making it more comfortable and its speed limit of 70kmph makes it a car with reasonable speed.
A simple logic that is not understood by the critics is that when we can get all the facilities of a four wheeler into a one lakh rupee car which can replace the shortcomings of a two wheeler, we should take it as a boon rather than criticizing it.
NANO has achieved a milestone by manufacturing the world's cheapest family car with high fuel efficiency, comfort, good quality, high safety level, better engineering.
It is a car for the masses manufactured with in just a span of 5 years making the dream of car come true for the middle class without compromising on its good standard of car manufacturing.
The Tata Motors has done it with the revolutionary "NANO".
