    Stand-Out 60s

    • Use the hurricane vases to create centerpieces that feature the number 60. Paint the number 60 on the surface of the vase with glass paint. Choose colors that coordinate with the color scheme of the event, or use a variety of bold-colored paints. Place floral foam inside the vases, and surround the outside of the foam with colorful or glittery confetti. Cut out several number 60s on decorative paper and attach them to the ends of skewers. Paint the bottoms of the skewers and insert them into the floral foam to make a striking number 60 centerpiece.

    Floating Candles

    • Create a romantic and eye-catching floating candle centerpiece. Fill the bottom of the hurricane vases with sea glass, decorative rocks or marbles, and fill the vases with water. Place floating candles on top of the water. Choose colors or shapes of candles that suit the decor of the party, or use candles that are shaped like the numbers 6 and 0. Place the vases on top of a mirror in the center of each table. Once illuminated, the candles will reflect off of the water and mirror to create a warm, romantic glow.

    Flowers

    • Flower also add a sense of romance and whimsy, and when displayed in a hurricane vase they create a unique look. Place floral foam inside the hurricane vases. Pull the petals off of roses, or use silk rose petals and place them inside the vases so they cover the floral foam. Use the favorite flowers of the birthday celebrant, or choose blooms that match the color scheme, and insert their stems into the floral foam. Tie ribbons to ornaments that read "60" hanging off of them around the center of the vases.

    Candy

    • For a fun centerpiece that satisfies the sweet tooth and pays tribute to childhood at a 60th birthday party, create candy centerpieces with hurricane vases. Fill the vases with small candies, such as gumballs, peppermints, jawbreakers, M&Ms and jellybeans. Position large candies in the center of the vases, such as large lollipops and candy canes. Place stickers on the vases that read "60" to feature the age of the guest-of-honor, or leave them as is for colorful and mouth-watering centerpieces.
