How to Care for Banana Leaf Furniture

    • 1). Dust your banana leaf furniture at least once a week with a soft cloth. Use a baby brush to get into small crevices.

    • 2). Wipe with a damp cloth once a month to keep the wood from drying out. Do not get it too wet, because banana leaf is a natural fiber and is prone to mold and mildew if it gets soaked.

    • 3). Clean very dusty furniture with a barely damp sponge that has been dipped in a little soapy water and then thoroughly wrung out. Dry each area you clean immediately with a clean cloth or with a blow dryer set on "cool."

    • 4). Refresh dried-looking banana leaf furniture with a wax-based stain like Briwax and a soft cloth.
