Build Your List - Or Die
No, you won't physically die without a list.
But your business will.
Without a list, you have no one to market to.
You don't even have anyone to correspond with.
Your list does not need to be huge to be effective.
It just needs to be highly targeted.
The people on your list must be looking for what you are offering.
Otherwise any emails you send to them will just be considered spam, and will produce no results for you.
They probably won't even be read.
If you are selling nutritional supplements, you need to address a very specific need.
While your product(s) may solve a myriad of problems, you can't address all of those problems in your marketing.
You need to hone in on one distinct area.
Many supplements will relieve joint pain, muscle aches and other issues as well.
People with joint pain are not looking for relief from muscle aches.
They are looking for relief from joint pain, and that is all they will be searching for.
So that's your target market - joint pain.
Address your marketing efforts to people suffering from joint pain.
Then get even more specific.
What joint pain did you have which your product relieved? That's the one you want to pinpoint.
It's much more believable to relate that you personally experienced relief as a result of using your product than just stating that it will produce this relief.
So now your message may be something like, "Are your knees causing you pain? Mine did too, until I discovered X.
" How do you now get your message out to build your list? And how do you get people to join your list? First you need a list service.

They will maintain your list as you build it and provide you with the ability to set up a series of messages to be sent at whatever intervals you choose, or a broadcast message which goes out to as much of your list as you dictate, all at the time you specify.
Then you need a landing page (also called squeeze page), which is where you place your optin box to capture their name and email address for your list service.
Once all of that is set up, it's time to start promoting your landing page and driving traffic to it.
