    Disco Fever

    • Throw a disco party for your daughter. Her friends will get a kick out of going retro for the evening. Encourage 70s-style dress and hairdos. Have some grownups teach kids how to do classic dances such as "The Hustle" or "The Bump." Play 70s music along with some new tunes, and don't forget the disco ball and strobe lights.

    Line Dancing

    • Do a twist on a traditional dance party by having kids show up for a line-dancing lesson. Most country-music dance clubs or dance studios offer these classes and may offer a group rate for one evening. Kids will kick up their heels learning how to do line dances and maybe even the "Texas Two Step." Boots and cowboy hats can be optional, but fun will be had by all. Go all the way with the theme and have a western-themed cake.

    Video Game Dance Party

    • Purchase one of the popular video games such as "Dance, Dance Revolution" and get kids moving at home. Get a competition going and everyone will be dancing to win. For added fun, throw in karaoke games and everyone will be singing and dancing along. Offer finger foods and small snacks, along with sodas, juices and bottled water to keep dancers energetic throughout the night.

    Nightclub Party

    • Emulate a hip night spot for your daughter's birthday party. Dim the lights and arrange lava lamps and black lights all around the party space. Hire a DJ or make a playlist on an MP3 player to play cool music all night long. Have a dance contest. Supply seating so guests can hang out when they are resting between dances, and a food area where there are snacks and drinks. Dads and older brothers can act as security for the "VIP" guests that come to the party. Encourage guests to wear nice attire.
