Palm 3C Specs
- The Palm IIIc was released in 2000 by a division of 3Com known as Palm Computing. It offers 8MB of RAM and a 20 MHz processor. The device can be back-lit and transfer data over infrared signals using IR-compatible devices. It was one of the first Palm device to offer accessibility features through its support of many font-size configurations and can connect to Microsoft Outlook 95 and 98. The Palm IIIc was part of a long series of Palm III successors, including the Palm IIIe and PalmIIIxe.
- The Palm IIIc offers a 160x160 pixel display that has an 8-bit color depth. It is the first model of the Palm IIIc to offer color support. The screen's TFT display is completely flat.
- Palm IIIc handheld units require a 486 DX or higher system that runs Windows 95, 98 or NT 4.0. You will ned a minimum of 8MB of RAM and a serial port to connect the device's serial cable to in order to make use of its desktop connectivity features. Macintosh users will be able to connect the Palm IIIc providing they are using OS 7 or later.
- The Motorola EZ Dragonball 20 mhz processors used in the IIIc model were also used in the Palm Vx. This upgraded processor was first released in 1998 and code named "Red Dragon." It offers a 32-Bit interface and its CISC architecture makes it optimized for larger sets of complex instructions
